What each role can do

Admin

Full control: upload, edit, publish and delete any version of any document.

Owner

Manages the documents assigned to them: upload, edit, publish and delete their own.

Editor

Uploads new versions and edits metadata; may delete own uploads for 15 working days.

Reader

Read-only: views and downloads published versions.

Allowed actions per view mode

Assign or unassign an action for a view mode. A person still needs the role right as well — view modes can only narrow, never widen.

Admin view

Every draft, version in review and published version.

Owner view

Drafts for documents you own, plus published versions.

Editor view

Your own unpublished uploads, plus published versions.

Reader view

Only published versions — what the department sees.

Profiles, roles and these settings are stored in this browser, so they are a department-level convention rather than tamper-proof security.
